Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — name, email address, year level, subjects, and a password hash (or Google sign-in identifier).
• Study activity — questions attempted, answers, scores, streaks, XP, mastery levels, time spent, and feedback you submit.
• Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed and timestamps, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
• Payment metadata — when you buy a subscription or pass, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number. We receive and store transaction IDs, amount, currency, and subscription status.
• Communications — messages you send to support and any notification preferences.

• To create and manage your account.
• To deliver the learning experience, track progress and personalise content.
• To process payments, manage subscriptions and seasonal passes.
• To send service emails (verification, password resets, billing receipts, important changes).
• To improve our questions, content and product based on aggregated usage.
• To prevent fraud, abuse and breaches of our Terms.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with trusted service providers that help us run ATAR Ninja, including:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Lovable Cloud (powered by Supabase) — application hosting, database and authentication.
• Email delivery providers — transactional emails.
• AI providers — when you use the AI tutor, your question and the relevant context are sent to a model provider to generate an answer.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

Your information is stored on cloud infrastructure that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States and European Union. We require our providers to apply appropriate safeguards consistent with the APPs.

We keep your information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax and audit requirements. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 7).

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (e.g. theme), and measure usage so we can improve the product. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; some features will not work without them.

You can:

• Access and correct your account information from the Account page.
• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of non-essential emails.
• Make a privacy complaint. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

ATAR Ninja is designed for Australian Year 11 and 12 students. Users under 18 should have a parent or guardian review these terms and the Privacy Policy before signing up. We do not knowingly collect more information than is necessary to provide the service.

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and routine security review. No system is perfectly secure; you use the service at your own risk.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
